Mediterranean diet reduces dementia risk

A new study published in *The Journal of Nutrition, Health and Aging* analyzed data from the UK Biobank and found that adherence to Mediterranean, MIND, RFS, and AHEI diets was associated with a lower risk of dementia, while a pro-inflammatory diet increased the risk. The findings highlight the importance of diet as a modifiable lifestyle factor for brain health, particularly for older adults, women, and those without the APOE-e4 gene variant.
