A new avenue for migraine therapy

A new study has identified the gene NEAT1 as a driver of light sensitivity (photophobia) in migraine sufferers. By silencing this gene in mice, researchers were able to reduce their light aversion, suggesting a potential new therapeutic target. The study reveals a molecular pathway involving NEAT1, miR-196a-5p, and TRPM3, opening doors for more targeted migraine treatments.
